STILETTOS & PELVIC FLOORS
A story in the Courier Mail on 4 February 2008, had me really curious.
There is new research information at hand that claims:

Stilettos can be good for a women’s sex life and by wearing them “directly works the pleasure muscles linked to orgasm”.
I am rather perplexed as to how this research was carried out but apparently Dr Maria Cerruto, of the University of Verona, Italy did indeed come up with this outcome.
The Courier Mail tells us that Dr Cerruto's research found that wearing a pair of ‘‘moderately high heeled shoes had beneficial effects for a woman’s sex life”.
But maybe you weren’t aware that if you eased your feet into a pair of stilettos, you were actually up for a pleasure muscle workout as well!!
The article goes on: ‘‘Wearing heels during daily activity may reduce the need for the pelvic floor exercises necessary to keep that part of a woman’s anatomy toned and elastic.”
Well, have you ever heard of anything so bizzare!!!!
Apparently learning of this new research, Manolo Blahnik, whose shoes are worn by Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw said:
‘‘This is wonderful news. I’ve been hounded for years about how bad it is for posture, but . . . when you put on a high heel it makes life more exciting. For women, it’s a way to appeal to the male species.” The male species for heaven’s sake!
It goes on to say there is a limit. “Anything over 11.5cm (4 and a half inches) you can’t walk properly; it’s no longer elegant.” So there it is, don’t aim for higher than that!
So it seems, apart from appealing to the "male species', there is a rather good reason for us women to wear them!!
I also found these hints when wearing high heels:
1. A two inch heel will cause less problems than a four inch heel!!!!!
And now I am wondering, 'does the higher the heel mean more of a workout?'
2. Save the use of your high-heeled shoes for functions where you will not be on your feet for extended periods of time!
How long do I need to wear these heels to get a perfect daily pelvic floor workout?
These answers weren't made available I am afraid.
 
So as you strap on your sexy 'high heels' know that they will do more than make you look beautiful on the outside!
Personally, I think I will continue on with pelvic floor exercises as there is no way on earth that I will be taking this exciting new stiletto wearing news and running with it……
