Hi Wise Women
I’m back!!
Hope your life has been rich and rewarding during my absence and that you have had many reasons to laugh and have fun.
My Week

Me speaking at Gail O'Keeffe's book launch
I’ve have become a real jetsetter of late with trips to the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Auckland. I have only been home for one day and then I fly out to Melbourne tomorrow for 2 days.
Queensland’s weather is so beautiful this time of the year and after spending a few days sunning myself near the Gold Coast I travelled up to Brisbane to attend Gail O’Keeffe’s wonderful launch for her book, ‘The Remembering’.
Mr J and I then travelled to Auckland New Zealand where we enjoyed a 6 nights holiday exploring the north island. The weather was a bit chilly but dry which was great as we spent a lot of the time on the water.
We not only took in the beautiful sights of New Zealand, we also took in the tastes...thus putting on 2 kilos in just a week!
My mouth is still watering from the fresh salmon and the fantastic crayfish...yummy.
Tomorrow (accompanied by our son) we are taking our grandson to Melbourne to visit a highly acclaimed medical professor for a second expert opinion. My Grandson, Mr T was hit by a car on Xmas Day 2007 - only a day before his 4th birthday.
He was extremely lucky to survive the accident, however, his leg was severely mangled and since then he has endured around 23 operations.
His healing process is not going as well as we had hoped and there is talk of amputating his leg – therefore we are seeking other opinions. Fingers crossed!
Gigi Does USA
Gigi is somewhere on the west coast of America at the moment and I’m sure she is having an amazing time. If anyone in that area spots her -please contact me lana@wisewomensworld.com.au with the details. Here’s a photo (below) so that you can recognise her.

Wise Women’s Tears

From left - Gail's daughter, her husband, Gail, me and Gail's friend Jenny.
We were all heart touched by a speaker as you can see by our expressions.
Gail’s launch for her book ‘The Remembering’ was an incredibly enlightening, inspiring and emotionally charged evening.
The room was packed to the rafters.
I was kindly invited by Gail to speak on the night which I felt very honoured to do.
Gail asked me to do a 10 minute introduction and discuss a few horrifying facts about child sexual abuse that included Gail’s own shocking experience with Traumatic Amnesia.
Many of you are probably not familiar with this term and it means delayed recall of memories of child sexual abuse. This happened to Gail at the age of 37 and it turned her idyllic life upside down and inside out.
Each of the speakers were truly mesmerising as they spoke in depth about the debilitating effects of child sexual abuse.
One tremendously brave and very wise woman spoke about her own traumatic experiences as a child and there was not a dry eye in the room.
Our hearts were touch and our souls stirred, particularly when Gail spoke. She is such a warm, generous and articulate speaker and her openness and charm captivates and fascinates the audience.
The launch was a family effort as her husband and son helped with catering and guest relations and her daughter eloquently took on the role of emcee.

Gail and Me
The moment I walked into the room I felt a warm comforting sensation that I can only describe as a ‘presence’ and after meeting a number of the people in attendance I realized that we were surrounded by many special people.
