Hi and Welcome Wise Women
I hope that you have enjoyed a happy and healthy week and are making the most of your life.
MY WEEK

City to Surf triumph
I'm happy to report that my family and I competed in this year's City to Surf race in Sydney. The undulating course is 14 kilometres long and with 80,000 competitors it is the biggest race in the world.
We started at the back of the pack on a very cool but sunny Sunday morning and with so many competitors, the race was won before our group had even begun!
Along the way there was a plethora of entertainment and fascinating characters to help keep us amused. There was even a cave-man carrying a blow up doll while walking the race in Ugg boots, an avatar character, a family of smurfs, and many other fascinating but odd ball personalities.
A toilet stop during the race added at least 30 minutes to the trip so my daughter and I cunningly decided that instead of waiting in the long queue at the designated portable toilets, we would check out the queue at the nearby pub. There was a long line for the women's toilet and as my daughter and I were about to leave, a guy dressed as a super hero grabbed our arms and ushered us into the men's toilet promising us that it was vacant...it was... until we emerged from the cubicles to find a line up of men standing at the urinals - were our faces red!!!
Moral of the story - don't trust a man who wears his underwear on the outside of his clothes!
We were all extremely relieved to catch our first glimpse of the finish line as we descended the hill into Bondi Beach. We were exhausted but elated by our achievement as we limped across the line.

THE INCREDIBLE ICE BAR

We celebrated our accomplishment at finishing the race (any excuse) with a drink at the Minus 5 Ice Bar where everything is made of ice.
It is a very cold minus 5 degrees in the bar, therefore, thankfully we were provided with warm furry parkas and gloves.
We were surrounded by ice carvings and even sat in an ice car as we sipped our vodka cocktails in our ice glasses, being extremely careful not to allow our lips to stick to the outside rim.

When we finished our drinks we were invited to smash our ice glasses against the icy walls - a lot of fun, however, we were glad to be outside again in the afternoon sun.

Ice chess anyone?

No More Leakage!

I recently attended a Pelvic Floor Workshop in Sydney with my daughter and a friend and we found that the experience was life changing.

Online Shopping

Isn't online shopping fantastic? If you are time poor like me it makes so much sense to do as much shopping as you can online.
Grocery shoppping online is amazing, 15 minutes spent in front of the computer and my groceries are delivered to my door and are even carried to the kitchen bench. How great!
Crazy Sales .com has some great deals - check it out for yourself. Happy shopping.

Visit Gigi

Gigi's life has been extremely hectic lately, I don't know how she manages to fit everything into her day and still finds time to visit the gym - she is amazing.
Visit her now and see what she's been up to.
