Hi and Welcome Wise Women
“I hope that you have been feeling fit and well and finding time to kick up those red stilettos!”
The Stork Has Landed!

Last Thursday (7 October), the stork delivered the latest addition to our family – a baby grandson, ‘Cruz William James’. What an adorable baby he is...3.2kilos and 51.5 centimetres - just perfect!
The proud mum, dad and siblings are doing well and nanny and poppy are overjoyed.
I look at Cruz in awe and revel in the knowledge that I have been given the opportunity to participate in his life’s journey as a friend and a grandmother and I also cherish the thought that I may share in our first conversation one day.
Isn’t life grand?

Cruz just minutes old!
My Week

Think Pink this October and help us beat breast cancer!
My week just keeps getting better. I just received news from my surgeon that the lesion on my lip is not cancerous and the lesion on my cheek is not a basal cell carcinoma as suspected! Yipee!

No more surgery... I am one happy wise women!
Apart from celebrating the birth of my new grandson and catching up with family members, I have been spending late nights glued to the TV watching the Commonwealth games. It almost didn’t happen as buildings started to crumble and the athlete’s village was shown to be uninhabitable and then terrorists scares...Anyway, it’s all over now and the athletes were absolutely outstanding!
There was controversy, celebration and devastation as the athletes gave their all for their respective countries.
You make us so proud! Congratulations!
Australia did come away the clear winner with
a massive 74 gold 55 silver 48 bronze = 177 medals.

Mini Master Chef

During the recent school holiday break, I had the pleasure of caring for my eldest grandson (7 years old), and during his stay he developed a passion for helping me in the kitchen with the cooking so I decided to build on his new found talent by enrolling him in a mini master chef class. He absolutely loved it!
Ever since the Junior Master Chef series appeared on television young children have been invading the kitchens of their homes – in epidemic proportions.
Who would have thought it would only take a TV series to get them rattling those pots and pans!

Pink Ribbon Day
One in every nine Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85. It could be a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece or friend. Whoever they are, one thing they have in common is that they will all need our help and support.
This October, Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day is your chance to help raise money and awareness for all Australian women affected by breast cancer.
For as much as we do to help improve survival rates and treatments, the fact is there is still so much more to be done in the fight against this terrible disease.

Authors Wanted!

Our resident author, Roslyn Motter, has asked us if we know any self published authors of fantasy or sci fi who would like their books to be promoted on a fantastic website that is being developed by a top designer, Ian Butler.
Here is a draft of it
Ian knows how hard it is for self published authors to promote their work and his website will be ranked high on Google as he is working with experts to achieve this.
If you are interested, contact Roslyn on rozlyn@iprimus.com.au and she will give you the details.
Nanny Nap Rules...

We all know the benefits of a nanny nap and aren’t we lucky we have an excuse! However, the US National Sleep Foundation advocates no more than 30 minutes of nap time in a cool, dark, quiet environment. Don’t nap too late or too early in the day – afternoon seems to be the best time.
If you don’t have time to nap, a new book, The Power of Rest (Harper Collins) by Matthew Edlund, says “active rest such as meditation or breathing techniques can be more effective.
Sorry girls but watching TV is defined as passive rest as you mind will be buzzing.
I don’t know about you, but I like to sneak in a little nanny nap around 3pm...
Welcome Back

Hadrians Wall
My friend Cathy has just returned from an epic overseas trip. She hiked Hadrian’s Wall in England (132 kilometres), ate at the world renowned “Fat Duck” restaurant in London, saw Jersey Boys on Broadway and ‘shopped til she dropped’ in New York.
What a dream trip!
I’ll keep buying those lotto tickets...
