WELCOME WISE WOMEN
I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying your Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter weather.

But my heart goes out to the south of France and the gorgeous area we travelled around a couple of years ago. Les Arcs and surrounds were recently ravaged by shocking flooding. If you go to Google Maps and take a drive down the streets of this pretty village it is very sad to think of the damage and lives lost in this locale.
And while I am on the subject of Google Maps, isn’t it just the most fantastic invention. You can travel anywhere in the world (just about) and literally drive down the streets and visit tourist locations you have only dreamed about.

When we are really old, that’s exactly how we can travel. Each day we can drive around a village, research the tourist attractions (well, Google Entry into Tourist Attractions will exist then) and keep down loading the beauty of the world into our soul.
WINTER WEDDING

The bride and groom and the grooms family
It was particularly lucky that last Sunday was a stunning winter’s day here in Sydney.
This is the day my nephew and his new bride had chosen to be married and they couldn’t have been luckier regarding blue skies.

The stars of the day
The church was Villa Maria at Hunter’s Hill, a gorgeous leafy suburb of Sydney. The ceremony was perfect and when the priest sat down to the organ and sang a song he had written about marriage, well, it was spine tingling. Honestly, he could be making millions on the charts I reckon.

My Mother in Law with me and Son
My son and daughter-in-law, my mother-in-law and Mr. G, we all jumped in to a cab to drive to the reception venue in a wonderful Waterfront Restaurant at The Rocks. (Incidentally, I have to say here, bouquets to the driver who ran after us to return Mr G’s very expensive camera equipment he had left in the cab)
The venue was in the heart of the ‘The Light Show’ precinct. The only bit I got to see was a ship all lit up through the big window behind the bridal table. Oh well next year!!!

My gorgeous son and daughterinlaw
It was a lovely reception. Trays of canapés and drinks were handed out as soon as we arrived. Being very much Labour Party enthusiast’s, each table was named accordingly and we scored the Keating table. The three course meal was exceptional. There was no shortage of alcohol and many made great speeches.
And best of all, at the end of the pomp and ceremony, the dance music was cranked up and it was time to party. Mr G made do a few short jigs on the dance floor. He said he was steering clear of my flaying glass of red wine and left! Gosh, isn't that what are dry cleaners for!!

That darstedly glass of red wine!
But that didn’t stop me from dancing the light fantastic for the rest of the night aided and abetted by the Pot, Beautiful, Dom and others.

The 'You can't stop us' dancing team - Dom, The Pot, Beautiful and Me
I love dancing now more than I did as a young woman and I am sure making up for lost time. Oh by the way, I did swap my high heels for some flatties but my ankles are still suffering….
BEST MAKEUP HINT

I thought I might hand on my makeup suggestion to you. Having combed the city for foundation and being given samples of things, some cost over $200.00 per bottle (who in the hell buys that!) I was desperate and ended up trying something I had seen being advertised on the TV. I though, why not try it?
So for around $20.00 (yes, knock a zero off) I bought Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and honestly, I was amazed. It is light, flows on easily and says it gives a flawless finish (it's pretty good) and best of all ‘cheap’.
I keep wondering how ‘older’ women will be able to cope with purchasing their tried and true makeup when we are not financially able. You just couldn’t go past this product girls.

PHOTOS FROM HEN’S NIGHT

It seems like ages ago doesn’t it! But I did promise I would pass on the photographs from the evening when I finally received them.
I really think they must be the tamest ones though……no-one is passing on the ones where Mr G will consider divorcing me!!!! Probably a wise move!

LET’S GET FIT
Are you still hard at it? Still working to build that healthy and beautiful body? I must say, I am constantly amazed at how the body acts and reacts, especially when bits misbehave!
My ankles, for instance, have been dodgy for a while and I put it down to arthritis or something like that. Sometimes they just seize up, lock, or make sharp pains, just like tonight at the gym.
Mind you this is 'post wedding high heel dancing' so they had been well and truly shoved outside their comfort zone, and by that I mean out of their beloved aerobic shoes!!! No they don’t like change! They like to have ‘Cumf’ shoe comfort, but they are not getting that lucky all the time!!!
Gym Class:

Anyhow, I race into class at the last minute and don’t have time to stretch and moments into the high impact action of Body Attack, I can feel them acting up. Arms in the air and big flicks of the legs out to the sides and I am starting to think: ‘should I leave now before permanent damage is done, or is the excruciating pain going to cause me to spontaneously scream out’.
I keep jumping and the pain subsides but up it rises up again and again. My head is saying: ‘For goodness sake, it is only pain, don’t pike out!” Then, after two thirds of the class is done, after all that sprinting around the room and intense leaping, I suddenly come good!
After all of that ‘ouch’ and ‘ooohhh’, my joints are now nicely oiled and I am on fire. By that stage most people in the class are slowing down, but not me. I am now pain free and energised and leap and jump to my hearts content. What a crazy weird thing that is!
Now I am home and all the leaping has stopped, my ankles are feeling a tad touchy again so they have been lathered in sports gel in hope for improvement by tomorrow because, it’s back to the gym again.
I am just thinking this is preparing me for old age. You know, when all the aches and pains suddenly start appearing with an alarming rate. You can’t let pain get you down though (well, granted there are extremes) but the daily ‘not normal’ feelings just have to be set aside.
A bit of experience of how to deal with pain now will keep us in good stead I think!!!! Or there are always painkillers!!! Did I say that!

QUOTATION TIME

Are you the imaginative sort? Do you, like me, have ideas soaring around your brain hoping to be realised. Well if you do, here is the perfect quote:
Dreaming is an act of pure imagination,
attesting in all men a creative power,
which if it were available in waking,
would make every man a Dante or Shakespeare.
H.F. Hedge
Hey, are you really a Dante or Shakespeare? It’s a sublime thought isn’t it! Make your dreams a reality now!
PS. I am going to be doing something really fun this weekend but I'll fill you in next time.
Enjoy your week, smile and be happy
