Hi There,

The monsoon season has hit with full force and and just a few minutes ago the rain was pelting down. I'm sitting at an internet cafe on the waterfront and the waves are hitting the sidewalk like a tsunami. It's quite scary. If a tsunami hit here we'd all be gonnas. We'd get hit on the head by computers anyway.
I have a crazy bank story to tell you but I'll wait till I get back. However, at this point it's not absolutely guaranteed that I will be allowed to leave.
I could well be held hostage here. I'll leave you on tenderhooks until I return. But if I am held hostage I'll tell you straight away, don't worry.
As for the treatment, it is working very well. Have lost a few kilos and the happiest person is my mother who could hardly walk when we were in Israel and Turkey. Now she is bounding around the place like a rabbit. And that was after 4 days! And she looks much younger too.
Mind you, I had my photo taken with Miss India 2007 yesterday and I think I shaped up quite well for once in my life. At least my double chins were not evident so that was a break. I will forward that photo when I get back, and let you guess which one is Miss India!!!
She is quite a gal though! She was acting in a movie being filmed in the foyer of the hotel and her mother who was there was telling me that she is an actress, singer, dancer, B. of Science, and is currently working on a cloning project!!!
My goodness gracious me!!! And she's only 20!!! By 25 she will have invented a new form of atomic power, I'm sure!
Until next time

Hi Everyone

I am now in India. Our doctor at the Kerala Ayurvedic was overjoyed that we had favoured him with a return visit within months of the last one.
(Click here for Roslyn's inspired report the first time around
)
He was absolutely thrilled with our article on www.wisewomensworld.com and said that it had totally inspired him and the hotel.
It was so inspiring that they have set up a special desk for him in the reception area so he can give tourists a little talk about Ayurveda when they arrive. He's such a darling. He even got an Australian who read the article on your website and came to lose weight. She only lasted 5 days though.
It isn't easy but then what is?
The room is always covered with grit from the medicated clay rubs and thick yellow oil. Also our hair is continually coated with thick oil and the one thing they don't provide is conditioner and shampoo! It would be wonderful if I could find a shop, which sells it, open at the local beach!

But everything is closed because it is the monsoon season. The surf is bashing on the beach like there's a tornado but it certainly hasn't rained since we've been here. Oh dear, global warming again!
Because there are now no tourists, every tourist is much more valuable which is also a problem. But fortunately since 50 % of the shops are closed there are less shop keepers to bother us so I guess it all evens out in the end.
I was lucky to find this internet cafe open actually. I passed 3 others that were closed for the monsoon season.
The air is lovely and fresh though. All that thrashing of surf is creating lots of negative ions which are very refreshing.
Yes, I guess I am lucky not being in the freezing cold - but the boiling heat of Israel was just too, too much.
You know what? I was told not to get a stamp in my passport for Israel. I had to get a special form stamped on arrival and departure.
The lady at the travel agents told me that there could be problems after we left as we were flying to Amman in Jordan where we did a city tour and then got back on a Qatar Airlines flight to India.
Well, luckily I followed her instructions and didn't get a stamp because I peered over the counter at the man who was booking us onto the flight and he was turning every single page of our passports looking for something! Now why would he go to all that trouble unless he was looking for an Israeli stamp?
Well, back to our Ayurvedic paradise and a delightful evening watching Animal Planet and Discovery Channel! There is one other English speaking channel showing some terrible American drivel so really I should be writing up my report for you.
But never fear I do have some good notes!

Hi Everyone,
Now in Israel and it is bloody hot!
Getting a bit sick of marching from one antique church to the next in the heat which must surely be 38 degrees every day.
And the food is not my favourite. There are endless salads and they are giving me terrible stomach issues! Maybe it's an ingredient in the salads or maybe it's all those raw vegetables!!!!
Kosher food is odd too because they use artificial cream in things which, when you are unfamilar with it, is pretty unpleasant!
More details when I get home....

Hi Everyone,
I have something to tell you that is rather funny!
Now how is this - in the ancıent city of Efes there is a lıbrary and the brothel was across the road.
An underground tunnel linked the brothel to the library!!!
So going to the library took on a whole new meaning!
Today we are grieving the loss of 50 Turkish lira (worth about 45 dollars). Someone must be very happy though! So now we only have 35 lira to last for our lunch for the next 3 days. Boo hoo!
Turkish television is a bit sad for us all there only seems to be CNN news in English.

Hi Everyone,
I'm on the job and would love to send a report to you but the netbook I bought specifically for the purpose wouidn't start just as I was leaving, hence İ just gave up and am trying to rely on hotel computers.
Now I'll have to wait to get home before I type up the story.
One thing for sure is you'd love Turkey - a very fascinating country with most amazing sights.
I hear the weather is extremely cold in Australia - sorry to tell you that it is superb here!!!
I have taken a balloon ride over a place with a lunar landscape / visited an underground city/ancient ruins. Today we visited the Temple of Diana which was once one of the seven wonders of the world and is now a lonely column with a family of three storks living on top! Tomorrow we visit Troy and then on to Gallipolli.
The food is superb with very delicious vegetable dishes like stuffed capsicums and eggplant. Their potatoes are very yummy - they slice them and cook in butter. Breakfast is 7 different types of olives
(truly!) and bowls of yoghurt/ figs and dried apricots/ halva/honeycomb dripping with honey/ five types of cheeses and ten types of bread rolls. But we are missing a decent cup of tea! However apple tea
is wonderful - a great culinary invention! Those pastries dripping in honey and sugar syrup are a worry too.
Resisted Turkish rugs today. One of our group did a fabulous bit of shoppıng - she brought the price of a very nice rug down from 2700 Turkish lira (which might be 2300 Aust dollars or thereabouts) to 1000
Aust Dollars! Hows that for nifty shoppıng?
I'll tell you the story about the leather coats when I get home.
I'm having a horrid time trying to use a Turkish keyboard on the computer. They have two sorts of the letter i. Type in the wrong one and you get a questıon mark. I haven't found commas/ inverted commas/
or dollar signs. Very frustrating.
Well speak soon and keep in from the cold!!!
