My New Smile

This is the day I have been waiting for....today I'm getting a brand new smile!

Fred (my dentist from Dental Excellence) shows me a model of my new teeth but before they can be attached, I must have the temporary teeth removed...more drilling.

I'm numbed up and the drilling begins. All temporaries are removed carefully and painstakingly.

I try on my new teeth before they are permanently cemented to ensure we are all happy with the result. "Looks good to me," I say rather cautiously, trying hard not to swallow the unsecured crowns.

Fred gets to work affixing each crown carefully and with precision onto each individual tooth.

There is a feeling of pressure as each crown is pushed up as close to the gum line as possible, however, thankfully there is no pain.

Once the crowns are in place, Fred connects me to the tens machine and makes a number of minor adjustments to achieve a bite as close to perfect as possible.

It's been a lengthy journey and now my smile makeover is complete!

I am offered a mirror which I accept with a feeling of apprehension and excitement. I'm a bit scared to look so I take a deep breath and go for it.

When I open my eyes, I see these wonderful, sparkling pearlers. They look so natural. I can't quite believe the transformation. I can't stop looking at them. It's certainly a far better result than I had ever imagined.

Dr Fred Calavassy is a legend!

I know I waited too many years to have my smile improved. If you are not happy with your teeth, go and talk to a dentist that specialises in cosmetic dentisty. It's never too late to do it!
