House of Wax

Eyebrow waxing..............

Well, I have just shimmied down to the “House of Wax” to have my eyebrows waxed. You know, you hear about people waxing their eyebrows don’t you, but I have never ever done it!!!!! Pretty amazing isn’t it!!!! I have never been inside a “waxing salon”, so it’s all new to me. So after years of painstakingly pulling out every rogue hair on my brow –
I have braved up and enter the door.

Pink, totally Pink! Everywhere I look its Pink! Now I hear pink is a calming colour so I am already alarmed! The place looks tiny on the outside but there is a long corridor with curtained off rooms at the side. I am greeted and directed to my “couch”. As I make my way to the cubicle, my shoe sticks to the floor in a pool of molten wax and I make a remarkable noise as I keep reattaching to the carpet. Ooooh this is spooky!! I’m up on the bed, hair back off my face, not a good look but thankfully its private in here! The pink ‘lass’ arrives and the waxing begins.

She wipes around my eyebrows with a cleanser and then on with the wax. So far, so good! She applies the wax underneath the brow and in between my eyes. Well, it’s totally pain free so far. Moments later, strips of cotton material are pressed onto the wax and ripped off quickly. Now, it’s really not that painful but I must say I am sure larger expanses of hair would be horrific! In seconds my ordeal is over and I pay my $10.00. At this point in time I have red skin around my eyebrows so it’s probably a good idea to have this done the day before the big event.

Now I would have to say that was probably one of the quickest ways to spend ten dollars that I can think of, but I’m happy and so presumably is the “House of Wax”.
