Face Shapes

FACE Shapes

Each face shape requires a certain amount of knowledge by the owner of the shape as to what suits it and we are talking about makeup, hair and glasses.  We might do a lot better with our choices if we have a little knowledge about shapes and what works.  You know, once those glasses are purchased, you are pretty much stuck with that look for at least a year.

Our appearance is what makes us unique as individuals. And even though we are unique, certain characteristics such as jaw placement and forehead shape determines our face shape.

So there are four main face shapes: Oval face shape, Heart face shape, Square face shape and Round face shape - but there are a whole lot inbetween....

ROUND

If your face is round, because your face is a little fuller, you most probably look a little younger!!!!  Hurray for you.

A round face is round, exactly that!  It is equal in width and length with no or very few hard angles.

OVAL

Lucky you, ovals are the easiest shape to deal with. An oval-shaped face is characterized by balanced proportions, a narrow forehead and jaw line, a chin that is slightly narrower than the forehead, and typically high cheekbones.

SQUARE

A square face is very common, equally wide at the forehead, cheeks, and jaw line. A square face means you have a strong, angular jaw which is perfectly OK, you just need to play down its strength.

HEART

Heart shape is very unique, broader at the forehead with a small narrow chin.  Affectionately known as Triangle but more gloriously known as Heart your pointy chin tends to be the focal point of your face. Try drawing attention to your eyes and cheekbones.

Apart from anything else, it's just nice to know what our personal shape is.....then you can observe the celebs to see how they wear their hair, the glasses they choose, their makeup etc.  Let them do the homework and you copy some of their ideas....
