The Colour Green

When you think about the colour green, your mind will conjurer up either good or bad.

It is forests and lushness or jealousy and envy.

To start at the very beginning it's more a cooler colour (blues and greens) than a hot colour (red and yellows).

But it is a mix of Blue and Yellow which has it smack in the middle of the colour spectrum.

Mystically speaking it is a balancing colour which can be helpful in stressful times.

And so it rather makes sense why it is a very popular decorating colour. It creates a calmness and a refreshedness by symbolizing nature. Apparently, it is said, and you will have certainly observed, that hospitals often use the colour green because it relaxes patients. At the hospital where I work, our offices have green doors and windows (with cream walls) which sort of says, be relaxed but not too relaxed!!!!

I found in my research on the colour green that brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. This seemed a little odd that they should wear green but I can only think it relates to fertile fields!!!! One wonders why the 'wedding dress' suddenly became a white affair!! Too much fertility and not much virginity maybe!

But back to the colour green. Of course it is a glorious colour to view, but should you wear it? There are so many shades from lime to emerald to jade. They are all unique and can be quite stunning so pick the shade that suits you.

You must remember also that your nervous system needs green vegetables. So while it is calming on the outside, it also calming on the inside as well.

As far as precious stones go you can look no further than a beautifully cut emerald.

Buy your emerald now and reason and wisdom are coming your way and it is also said to be the stone of prophecy which makes it pretty tantilising already. But there is more. By giving your beau an emerald it is said it will preserve love and it is a symbol of faith and hope.

It is the sacred stone of the goddess Venus and vibrates with love.

By the way, did you know that when the emerald has too much blue in it, it is an aquamarine.

And, if you want something that can be more valuable than a diamond, then make sure you pick out an emerald in the 'right' shade of green and you will have it!

So the colour green gives you harmony, balance, love and wisdom.

What could be better than that?
